3 July 06 - Wing Putterings, Rear Spar Stuff

Not a terribly productive day today as far as metal-bending goes, but productive as far as planning - we're getting together a list of all the things that we're trying to get done with the wings on, so that as soon as possible, we'll be able to get them back off and out to the hangar.

When we drilled the rear spar yesterday, it was just with a size 30 drill bit, now it's drilled out.

The recommended way to do this is to use long drill bits and gradually increase them in size, so we've got a collection now - a #30 drill bit, then a 3/16", then a 1/4", and then a 5/16", which is what the final hole size actually should be.

One of the projects for tomorrow is starting on the flaps - here's the pushrod for the flaps which we made months ago and then forgot about. Here, it's set to the right length, but I suspect that'll need to be tweaked as we get it in.

Tomorrow, we'll start working on the flaps and the gas tank attach point.
