24 Sept 06 - N-numbers, Finishing Access Plates

Well, dad's out of town - just left this morning - and I'm pretty sore from a touch football game yesterday that expended lots more energy than I thought it was going to. So, today we are taking a break from the canopy to do a few unrelated things: put the N-number on the plane, and finish the access plates in the front skin.

Ta da! After looking at these, though, they look like they are going downhill. Hmmm. More about this below.

Got the second two of these on, and then the nutplates in all of them. That is a lot of nutplates.

These numbers - which we ordered from Spruce - came in much faster than I thought they would, as they're a custom part. I also thought that I was going to need two - one for each side, right? As it turns out, they are sold in two-pair sets, so I have four, now.

This might be valuable, though, because I lined these up with the rivet line below them, and now they look like they are crooked. I think they would have if I had lined them up with the rivet line above them, too - the lines converge near the back of the plane, so I may peel these off and do them again, since I already have the extra stickers anyway. We'll see.
