22 July 06 - Reorganizing, Planning

Not much in the way of metal-bending today, but still a big day anyway: the wings are back off of the airplane, and it's easy to get around the shop again. As much as I've been crawling under wings recently, that feels like a big deal.

Here's the reorganized shop. The wings are back off, the airplane is now not sideways anymore, and various tables have been moved around and organized.

List of things that have to be done before we get the wings out of here.

Getting the wings finished and out of here is the next immediate goal. In order to accomplish that we have to

• Get the nutplates for the wing root fairing on
• Assorted wiring in the wingtips
• Trim the PVC pipe in the wings (it's a bit too long now, and would cause the wires to kink)
• Pitot and Angle of Attack plumbing
• Test the gas tanks for leaks

Also, if we get the wings out of here, this will mean that we have more room in the shop, which will let us move the rest of the airplane parts into the garage, and mom won't have to keep using the upstairs guest room as airplane parts storage. Progress.
