20 Sept 04 - Aileron Pushrods, take two

Mechanism for drilling the pushrods. This sure makes it easier than just holding it.

A few lessons learned - things that worked better from last time:

• Do a good job bracing the pushrods for drilling. It makes it easier.
• Drill pilot holes. Your smaller holes may not be in the right place, and doing this gives you a chance to straighten them out. In my experience, just drilling pilot holes and then drilling larger holes will just straighten them out even if you're not doing anything to specifically do that.
• We didn't prime the inside of the pushrods, since last time this was an enormous pain. (Primer that went on the inside made the ends not fit in.) However, we did get some of the touchup paint that Van's sells that's the same color as the powder coat. We touched up the ends, and the inside of the holes where the rivets go. Should be okay.
