November TVRVBG Meeting, Tips from Jim Skala

November's TVRVBG meeting was at Jim Skala's shop. Jim's building an RV-9A, and is powering it with a Subaru engine from Eggenfellner Aircraft. Took a lot of pictures related to the stuff that I'm about to work on and noted some of the cool stuff that Jim has been doing.

Empennage parts are now on the plane!	Detail on the Sooby engine.	Rudder petals, etc. We're about to start this part on our project.
This is cool - makes wheeling the airplane around the shop much easier.	With something like this underneath the tail, the airplane is stable to get in and out of, even on casters.	MT prop that Jim will be using.
Milling around, eating food, etc.	Neat wiring - just snap it in when the wings are on!	From left to right: Steve, Sooby engine, Kevin.
Detail on fuel pumps, landing gear stuff.	Discussing something . . . probably RV-related, I suppose.	Proper angle between brake petals and rudder bars. Apparently this isn't clear in the plans? Not sure.
Rudder petals/side longeron. We need to match drill these before we put on the NACA vents.	View through the fuselage looking forward.

Neat things to know - I feel better prepared to do rudder petals now, and I think the ideas of having the plane on casters with a sawhorse under the tail and the idea of how Jim's done wiring in the wing are both worth duplicating.
